So now that you know iPod car adapters are the way to go, what do you buy? Well, to start there are two different types of adapters.
Direct Connecting Adapters:
Your first and best option for an iPod adapter is one which is integrated directly into your cars entertainment system. This basically means that your car manufacturer implemented a iPod port into your car. While the majority of new cars are doing this, the older cars will not have this luxury. If your car does have an IPod port then you will simply have to plug your iPod in. However, if you don't have an iPod port already in your car, but you want the best iPod car adapter you still have this option in most cases. Dice Electronics makes a iPod integration kit which can be easily added to your cars entertainment system. The integration kit comes with everything you will need, and provides you with the same quality of audio that your pre-integrated system would. If you are looking for a way to add great quality and reliable audio into your car then I highly recommend you check out the Dice iPod car adapters
FM Transmitters & Cassette Adapters:
Your other option when looking to integrate your iPod into you car is by using either a FM transmitter or a cassette adapter. The FM transmitter is a device which you will plug directly into your cars power outlet, and place you iPod into its custom cradle. It then acts as a FM radio station right in your car, it just transmits the FM radio signal to your cars antenna. The FM transmitter is effective and a bit cheaper then the Dice iPod adapter, however it will not be as reliable and will not necessarily produce the same quality of audio. In order for it to work properly you will have to tune to a station which has no interference, as if there is any at all the audio will get choppy just as a radio station does. The other option is a cassette adapter, which is basically just a modified cassette with an iPod plug and cable attached.
